    BASIC SUPERVISION SKILLS

    Often, supervisors and managers are promoted for excelling at what they do, but are rarely given the necessary training to help their entire team excel at what they do. This course will give you the skills to galvanize your effectiveness as a leader. Learn how to build trust and cooperation, empower your staff, increase productivity, and satisfy your own manager's objectives.

    COACHING SKILLS FUNDAMENTALS

    LEADERSHIP SKILLS FOR NON-SUPERVISORS

    Learn the essential skills to gain the respect and support of others. Learn to handle different personality types, delegate effectively, overcome conflict without making enemies and build stronger, more successful teams.

    MENTORING SKILLS AND MENTEE SKILLS
    (One-half day; up to twenty-five participants)

    Improve your organization’s mentoring and mentee efforts. Mentoring is an essential skill for leaders at all levels to use to develop productive employees and build effective teams. In this course, you will explore strategies to develop an effective learning partnership between a mentor and mentee. You will define the manager's role in the process and identify and develop the key mentoring skills you need to be successful. Mentoring Skills is facilitated as a half-day course. Mentee Skills is taught as a separate half-day class.

    MOVING FROM STAFF TO SUPERVISOR
    (One-day; up to thirty participants)

    This course is designed to address the needs of individuals new to managing others as supervisors or in similar capacities. Participants will receive a foundational understanding of leadership, an increased awareness of their own leadership capacities, and opportunities to experience personal leadership. This exploration enhances their self-awareness and self-confidence, thereby enabling them to take advantage of leadership moments when an individual chooses to think and to act like a leader regardless of formal title, position, or delegated authority.

    PROJECT MANAGEMENT: MOVING BEYOND THE BASICS
    (One-day or two-days; up to thirty participants)

    This multi-day workshop is designed to help project managers build practical skills beyond the basics of project management fundamentals. This course will help project managers use good practices in initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing projects. The focus is on teaching experienced project managers to adapt the proven processes and procedures of project management into stepping stones that enable them to survive and thrive on projects. Project management “tips and tricks” focused on but seldom used and effective techniques and approaches will also be addressed in this three-day session. This course can qualify for PDU credits toward PMP re-certification.

    SEXUAL HARASSMENT PREVENTION (FOR MANAGERS AND SUPERVISORS)
    (One-half day; up to thirty participants)

    Satisfy the new legal mandate requiring all employers with 50 or more employees to provide at least two hours of sexual harassment prevention training to all supervisory employees. This two-to-four hour highly interactive and dynamic workshop covers the essentials and related issues necessary to help prevent sexual harassment in your workplace. This workshop is recommended for supervisory and non-supervisory personnel. This workshop satisfies the requirements of California Assembly Bills 1825 and AB 2053.

    THE ART OF NEGOTIATING (AKA NEGOTIATING TECHNIQUES)
    (One-day; up to thirty participants)

    Learn to create win-win situations and improve work relationships with colleagues, employees, customers and others. In this fast-paced, customized, enjoyable, and highly-interactive workshop, you will develop proven real-world negotiating techniques to help you achieve your goals.
